Chef Alexis was Born in El Salvador, Central America, raised and educated in New York. His culinary journey started at a young age, working in local restaurants on Long Island. While in high school he was motivated and encouraged by a culinary instructor to enroll at the prestigious school for culinary arts “The Culinary Institute of America” Hyde Park, New York, where he studied and graduated in 1993 with an A.O.S degree in culinary. Chef Alexis’s professional career after the C.I.A started by working at The New York Marriott Marquis where he worked for 3 years, then moved on to expand his culinary experience in such iconic hotels and restaurants, The Roslyn Claremont Hotel, New York Hilton Towers, Restaurant Kukochin @ The Omni Berkshire Hotel, “ONO” Restaurant @ The Hotel Gansevoort, The Roosevelt Hotel, The Westin New York at Times Square, Don Shula’s Steak house NYC, Restaurant Repas, Michael Jordan’s Steak NYC, Rocking Horse NYC and others while holding many Chef Positions. He has been privileged to work under such great Chefs as Andre Halston, Chef Gerrand Doyle of the New York Plaza Hotel, Exec. Chef Uwe Toedter, Exec. Chef Luc Dendievel, Exec. Chef David Walzog and many others, which have shaped his great passion for culinary arts.
In 2014 Chef Alexis relocated to Florida to be close to his family and expand his culinary career. Since moving he has worked at such places as The Sheraton Beach Resort and The Westin Beach Resort & Spa as the Exec Chef at “Don Shula’s Steak House, Ft. Lauderdale and many others. Today he is honor to be at helm as the Executive Chef @ “THE LANDING” Hotel Melby, Melbourne Florida “I’m really excited and looking forward to be working and expanding my love and devotion for cooking great food and to give exceptional service to our devoted Guests.” HAPPY COOKING!
